AOBE welcomes the program adopted by the Council of Ministers to compensate for the costs of non-household electricity consumers for the first quarter of 2025.

The Association of Bulgarian Employers’ Organizations (AOBE) welcomes the program adopted today by the Council of Ministers to compensate for the costs of non-household end customers of electricity for the first quarter of 2025.

AOBE thanks the members of the people for adopting the legislative provisions that created the basis for the program adopted today by the Council of Ministers, as well as the government for the rapid adoption of this key decision. We call on the members of our organizations, as well as producers of goods and services for the Bulgarian market, to calculate electricity prices with a ceiling of 180 leva per megawatt-hour. We also call on them to refrain from increasing the prices of their products and services, as well as from limiting income and employment due to the price of electricity.

The program represents an important step in preserving the competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy, the most significant anti-inflationary measure, as well as significant support for the income and employment of workers and specialists in the country.

The Association of Bulgarian Employers' Organizations remains committed to developing, together with the executive branch, a permanent mechanism for crisis situations with electricity prices. The aim of this mechanism is to ensure predictability, sustainability, and competitiveness in the medium term of electricity prices, thus encouraging investment in Bulgarian industry.
