Assoc. Prof. Dr. Milena Angelova, Secretary General of the Bulgarian of Industrial Capital Association (BICA) will moderate a discussion on the non-financial reporting requirements that have come into force this year and how they affect the competitiveness of business in the European Union.
ESGnews.bg will offer an exciting and innovative program of “ESG & FRIENDS” 2025 for the fourth consecutive year. On February 18, at the Hilton Hotel, Sofia, leading experts, business representatives and institutions will discuss the regulations that have come into force for business, the new directives and requirements for tracking supply chains.
A special guest in the panel on “Non-financial reporting and business competitiveness” will be Sven Gentner, Head of the Corporate Reporting Unit at the EC. Other participants in the discussion include Hristina Pendicheva from the Directorate “Regulation of Financial Markets” at the Ministry of Finance and member of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, Marina Stefanova, Deputy Dean “Sustainable Development, Support and Engagement” at the Faculty of Economics of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. The discussion will be moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Milena Angelova, Secretary General of the Bulgarian Business Association.
Guest Speakers
An exclusive guest speaker at the fourth edition of the forum is Ellen Wasilina, one of the leading experts in the world of sustainable leadership. She is the founder and CEO of the Trocadero Forum Institute and during the forum she will share her long-standing experience and passion for transforming businesses into more sustainable and socially responsible organizations, as well as her model for building leaders who move the world in this direction. Ellen will also host an interactive workshop after the forum “Implementing an Alternative Sustainable Business Model”, which will show participants step by step how to implement a sustainable business model that reduces the environmental impact and risk of business operations by following an ESG strategy.

Sofia Beck, Managing Director and Partner at Boston Consulting Group, will examine the critical role of the energy transition in the global context and its significance for the future of economies. Effective Supply Chain Management
Among the guests at the fourth edition of the forum are Stephanie Borovets and Lisa Sheponik from Core. They will also host an interactive workshop, in which they will show participants how to conduct meaningful due diligence processes that lead to real impact and discuss key points of the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
During the conference, Stephanie Borovets will take part in the panel “Are companies ready for supply chain due diligence”, moderated by Olya Peneva, author at ESGnews.bg. It will also include Margita Kolcheva from Yettel Bulgaria and Ivana Tsvetkova from the Bulgarian Network of the UN Global Compact.

In the era of dwindling resources and the need for sustainable solutions, the circular economy is establishing itself as a key factor for the long-term success of business. This panel, moderated by Denisir Dimitrov, author at ESGnews.bg, will examine innovations that can help companies transition to more sustainable models of production and consumption.
