The final week for nominations for the twelfth edition of the annual "Business to the Rules" awards has begun, which will be presented at the upcoming ceremony in March 2025.
The aim of the competition is to highlight stimulating examples of success in the fight against the informal economy and to recognize leading institutions and individuals with an active position and contribution to limiting the shadow economy. In this way, BICA aims to increase public intolerance towards the informal economy, to encourage active actions in this direction and to promote the constructive role of business in society in improving the socio-economic environment.
The "Business to the Rules" award for 2024 is awarded in three categories:
For a regulatory act or administrative practice that leads to limiting the shadow economy and improving the business environment.
It is awarded to a state/municipal administration or its representatives for proposing/introducing a regulatory act or administrative practice that leads to effective limitation of the gray sector and improvement of the business environment.
For a person or organization that has contributed to the limitation and prevention of the informal economy through an active position.
It is awarded to a person, NGO, scientific organization, company that has conducted in-depth research on the topic, has constant and active media appearances, or has generated proposals for changes in legal acts and/or administrative practices, etc.
For a journalist or media that has contributed to changing public attitudes towards the informal economy.
It is awarded to a journalist or media for contribution to the current and multifaceted coverage of the problems and achievements related to activities to limit and prevent the informal economy, to encourage and promote legitimate business and to form public intolerance towards the gray sector.
You can make nominations by filling out the attached form (Appendix 1.), which is also published on the website of the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association o(www.bica-bg.org), as well as by sending proposals directly to the National Center "Business to the Rules" (15 Trakia Str., 15, 1527 Sofia; e-mail: v.radeva@bica-bg.org).
Nominations are accepted for institutions, individuals and organizations in the specified categories for their work in 2024. The deadline for submitting nominations is February 14, 2025.
The "Business to the Rules" Awards are the first of their kind recognition of achievements in the fight against the informal economy in Bulgaria. Every year, the editions of the competition arouse well-deserved public and media interest. The event promotes among the public both the contribution of Bulgarian entrepreneurs, businessmen and politicians to the improvement and development of the business environment, as well as good practices for limiting and preventing the informal economy in the country.
